About B.A. Sociology

The B.A. Sociology Department at Vidhyadeep Institute of Liberal Arts (VILA) was established in 2024, with an intake capacity of 20 students.

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology is a comprehensive program that delves into the study of soci-ety, social relationships, structures, and institutions. It provides students with an in-depth un-derstanding of societal functions, the interactions between individuals and groups, and the in-fluence of social, cultural, economic, and political factors on human behavior.

This program equips students with critical thinking, analytical, and research skills, fostering a nuanced understanding of diverse social phenomena on both local and global scales. It prepares graduates to engage with and address complex social issues such as inequality, poverty, racism, gender dynamics, and globalization. Through this, students gain the necessary tools to contrib-ute meaningfully to the study and resolution of contemporary social challenges.

Admission 2024-25

Course Duration: 4 Years

Intake: 20

Eligibility: Passed HSC (12th) examination in any stream/subject from Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board or any recognized board are eligible for admission into this program.

Admission Procedure: Merit list will be prepared as per the marks obtained in the 12th examinations of the students.
